Welcome to Trailcoach Kids Club! As part of our community, we value safety, respect, and enjoyment for all riders. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we have outlined the following procedures and etiquette:
1 – Safety First
- Always wear appropriate safety gear – helmets are mandatory but gloves and padding are strongly advised.
- Follow instructions from coaches and trail guides at all times.
- Respect trail signage and adhere to designated routes.
2 – Respect for Others
- Treat fellow riders, coaches, and volunteers with kindness and respect.
- Avoid behaviours that may endanger or disrupt others.
- Be inclusive and supportive of all riders, regardless of skill level or background.
3 – Trail Etiquette
- Yield to other trail users, including hikers and equestrians.
- Keep the trails clear at all times.
- Queue in single file when waiting to ride a trail.
- Leave no trace: pack out all trash and avoid damaging vegetation or wildlife.
4 – Communication
- Use clear and polite communication with other riders and coaches.
- Speak up if you have any concerns or need assistance during the ride.
- Encourage others to achieve, discuss techniques and options, and build a positive atmosphere.
5 – Equipment Care
- Keep your bike and equipment in good working condition to ensure safety and performance.
- Respect rental bikes, tools, vehicles and facilities provided by the club, returning them in the same condition as received.
6 – Environmental Stewardship
- Appreciate and protect the natural environment by staying on designated trails and avoiding sensitive areas.
- Participate in trail maintenance and conservation efforts when possible.
7 – Parental Involvement
- Parents or guardians are encouraged to support club activities, including regular communications.
- Stay informed about club policies and procedures, and communicate any concerns or feedback to club organizers.
8 – Positive Attitude
- Approach each ride with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, ready to learn and have fun.
- Celebrate the achievements of yourself and others, regardless of skill level or performance.
RESPECT
Another way of remembering some simple points, perhaps for younger kids, is the RESPECT acronym:
R – Respect all participants and decisions
E – Encourage everyone
S – Sportsmanship
P – Play for enjoyment
E – Educate and be knowledgeable
C – Conduct yourself courteously
T – Treat everyone fairly
Parental Code of Conduct
- Parents do not accompany the session.
- Remain close to the meeting point during the session, or nominate another parent.
- Ensure provided emergency contact details are functional and available.
- Post-session individual feedback is encouraged.
- A community mindset is encouraged, including ‘carpooling’ and discussion via group chats.
Consequences of Violations
Violations of the Trailcoach Kids Club Code of Conduct may result in consequences, including but not limited to:
- Verbal warnings from coaches or club organizers.
- Temporary suspension from club activities.
- Permanent expulsion from the club in cases of severe or repeated misconduct.
By participating in Trailcoach Kids Club activities, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and contribute to a safe and enjoyable environment for all riders. Thank you for being part of our community!
